Health Net understands there are many questions regarding Medicare Part
D. We have taken a simple and clear approach in communicating and
incorporating options into the current Health Net Medicare Plans. Like all
Health Net plans, our new offerings will cover prescriptions from the
first claim, be deductible- and paperwork-free and cost less each month
than the national average for comparable coverage.
Health Net has
filed and been approved as a Medicare Advantage-Prescription Drug (MA-PD)
provider and a Prescription Drug Plan (PDP).
The Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) identified a number of ways employers
can take advantage of this new benefit and help offset drug costs for
their retiree populations. Health Net supports both options, offering
Enhanced Part D Benefits and the Retiree Drug Subsidy (RDS)
approach. Enhanced Part D benefits can be offered under both the Medicare
Advantage product and Health Net's Medicare COB plans.
Under the
Enhanced Part D benefits approach, Health Net can offer prescription drug
plans that are richer than the standard Part D benefit and provide a
discount to employers' Medicare group rates.
Under the Retiree Drug
Subsidy approach, employers can apply to receive direct Federal subsidy
payments, helping offset retiree drug costs, and can keep current
prescription drug plans in place, if equivalent or richer than the
standard Part D benefit.
Health Net offers MA-PD plans in both
Connecticut and New York, some with no additional cost for the Part D
benefit.
Health Net also offers two stand-alone Part D (PDP)
options: 1. Two Tier prescription plan - Generic and Brand
Formulary 2. Three Tier prescription plan - Generic, Brand Formulary
and Non-Preferred Formulary
For all prescription plans there are
maximum coverage levels and co-pays.
