Starting
January 1, 2006, Medicare will offer prescription drug
plans
to help pay for prescription drug use. The Medicare Prescription Drug
Benefit, sometimes referred to as Medicare
Part D, will offer people who are Medicare eligible the
opportunity to save on their prescription drug costs. Unlike
Medicare Part A and B, prescription drug plans will be offered
by
private insurance companies throughout the country, and individuals
will need to choose which plan works best for them.
