New York State Paid Family Leave has received an official update to its costs and benefits for employees beginning January 1, 2027. The changes for next year are as follows:

- The employee contribution rate will be 0.452% of gross wages (up from 0.432% in 2026), capped at the 2027 New York State Average Weekly Wage of $99,957.

- The maximum total cost (remitted from an employee’s paycheck) will increase to $451.81 annually (up from $411.91 in 2026).

Employers should prepare their payroll departments to remit the correct amount from employee paychecks. Employers should also inform employees of the new benefit amount as soon as possible with an update of relevant posted PFL documentation.
