The IRS has released its annual draft forms 1094 and 1095 for plan year 2023 ACA reporting. These forms are reporting forms for employer-sponsored group health plans detailing to the IRS employer offers of coverage and the health insurance situation of each employee for the 2023 plan year. Plan administrators must complete and return these forms to the IRS (typically in late February or March).

There are currently no draft rules for these documents, so plan administrators may wish to wait for any potential changes in reporting regulations before they begin any official documentation. Employers should not rely on instructions from last year to assume instructions for this year. However, employers can get a feel for any changes to the 1094/1095 reporting process by reviewing the new IRS draft documents.

You can read all of the new 1094 and 1095 draft forms HERE.
