New York State has recently unveiled the new employee withholding values for NYPFL. As is the case with each NYPFL update, the withholding values have dramatically increased for the 2021 calendar year. Employees will now contribute .511% of their gross wages per pay period, up to a maximum of $385.34.

Also being enhanced for the 2021 calendar year is the amount of PFL an employee is entitled to under the state law.  Employees will now have 12 weeks of New York Paid Family Leave annually, paid at 67% of their average weekly wage (still capped at the New York State Average Weekly Wage: $971.61). This was an increase planned from the inception of the law, and no further of increase in leave amount is planned in future years.
