New York State is set to increase the daily pay for employees who are required to perform jury duty during work time. Employees will now receive $72 per day for rendering jury duty services as required by law (up from $40 daily).

This increase is set to take effect on June 8, 2025. Employers should revise their handbooks to reflect the changes to the law. Employers should also advise their payroll department of the increase to ensure that the correct amount is paid out to those performing jury duty service.
